In order to predict the color of offspring you must know the color genes of the parents
Sometimes the only way to figure this is to know the colors of the grandparents and or colors of previous puppies

 ( "B"=black dominant to "b"=brown  )
The first thing to remember in this series is that B=black does  produce black and is the only gene that does
A dog that is "BB" is black
A dog that is "Bb" is black
A dog that is "bb" is brown
