IN MEMORIAM

Bailey, I don't know where to begin.
Today is March 28, 2001, and we had to put you down just 4 short days ago, on March 24, 2001. You were a meager
5 years, 3 months and 9 days old when severe autoimmune hemolytic  anemia ravaged your body in 5 days. We simply had no time to prepare. We were told that it was because of your breed. Period.
How fair is that? You were
the light of my life. You were my everything. How am I to go on? We were often told that our relationship was not "normal", that your attachment to me and
me to you was just "Not right". To those people I say...get a life...get a dog....like Bailey. When I pulled up in the driveway after work for the
first time and I looked through the bay window, through the blinds and didn't see your body lying on the back of the couch, tail wagging and anxiously awaiting my arrival, whether I was gone 5 minutes or 5 hours
(you never knew the difference) was just about more than I could take. When I
would touch your face through the window tickle your nose just to let you know that I was moments away. I have not slept. When I bake at night... and at all hours of the night... who is going to hang with me? You always hung with me no matter what time I left the kitchen. Who is going to go for a ride with me when I take Brett to school? You looked forward to that as much as I did. Who is going to open the bathroom door with their left paw  as I was doing "my thing"? Who is going to follow me as I go downstairs to
throw a load of laundry in the washer...and wait anxiously on the 7th step (as long as I was in view) for me to finish? Who is going to bring me the stuffed "Cookie Monster" that mumbled..."hey, hey, hey...it's fun...it'sfun...huh, huh, huh" You will forever be in my heart. None will ever take
your place. None. Until we meet again at the rainbow bridge and at that time we will cross over together...

Until we  meet again Bailey...
I love you.
