Cherry eye (Prolapsed gland of nictitans)
To remove the gland
(all that the vet does is put the pup/dog to sleep then clamps a mosquito hemostat on the tear gland and cuts it off, puts medication in the eye, when the animal awakes it can be sent home with eye drops or salve) not very traumatic for the pup or it's caretaker ( but this procedure can lead to dry eye , immobility of the orb , and changes in pigmentation )
